So much focus in IT is on the technology itself the we forget about the health aspects of working in the IT industry. I have worked IT for over 14 years, started working with mainframes in 1990.
Unfortunately the IT industry is not the best for physical fitness and ergonomically correctness. {Those ergo keyboards excluded due to annoyance factor}

The two area I unfortunately have first hand knowledge about are Tinnitus and lower back trouble.

A few articles from WebMD about back pain:
Is Your Job a Pain in the Back
Working Your Back
Getting Rid of That Aching Back

Some products for Lumbar {Back}    More stuff

Spine-Health.com - an excellent site for back pain information.

A good article from WebMD about Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

Some products for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

I am not sure if it does any good for carpal, but it is a lot of fun: The Powerball. You have to rotate your wrist to get this thing to go faster. It is good because if you are stuck doing repetitive motions, it breaks up the repetition. It also builds muscle. I can't believe how much force this little thing can exert when it gets moving. My personal best is 10970.
